Why I am a catholic, George Phillips
Well, when Father Tony asked me to write this I tbought "well" I was born into a Catholic fami]y and I didn't really have much choioe. But now when I look back I had all the choice in the world and I have now realized tbat I will always be a devout catholic.
The first memory I looked back on was when I went to Confession in Nottingham with Father Greg. I said to him that I wasn't sure why I was a Catholic and that I was loosing faith rapidly. All he told me to do was to watch for the man that always sat at the back of the church in a wheel chair. Next Mass I looked for him but did not see him so I waited and two Masses later he was there standing freely without any aid and be walked to Communion without even a hobble. At the end of Mass I ran to Father and asked him - how? What does it prove? All he said was "Lourdes and God's mysterious ways"
I think after that I knew that the answer to the life the universe is not 42 as Prack says but God.
After this I often pray and even though I never hear anything I knew he was answering me and I soon realised that the only time I felt safe and truly alive is with him, God, Jesus my Lord. This is why I am a Catholic
